The most  attractive feature  of Kottayil kovilakam is the rock in the middle of river  which look like a scenery where an Elephant is taking its bath..The malavana river (part of Vembanad kayal ) where this rock is situated is  a special one, because it  isolates the great land Vypin. On the bang of the river there is a Siva temple .
